Dr. Fazilat's office is excellent. Everyone who works there is very nice. They do very well with children. My daughter was a bit scared and nervous to go in for a filling, but the Registered Dental Assistant, Kate did a great job of calming my child down and explaining to her all that was going to happen. They use kid-friendly terms for all their tools and equipment, which helps a lot. Every chair has a TV screen above it, so kids can watch to get their minds of what is going on in their mouth. They even let my child feel the tools that were going to go into her mouth. To my surprise, my child did very well in the chair and made it through her filling with no incidents. Mind you, this is my child who absolutely HATES to drink any medicine, even Tylenol. Towards the end of the procedure, she told Dr. Fazilat that she couldn't see the screen, so that just let you know that she was at ease and was more focused on watching Paw Patrol than feeling the pain. If I were to address some of the concerns other reviewers might have had regarding them not finding cavities soon enough and what not, as a parent I think it's useful to educate yourself a bit about all this. It's always nice to go into an office as a "smart consumer." By that I mean, when your kid goes in for a regular exam and cleaning, make note if they took x-rays of your kid's teeth or not. Sometimes they try to take x-rays, but many kids don't like the film in their mouth and what not. I would say your child should have x-rays at least every year, but if they are "higher risk" or just more prone to getting cavities, x-rays every 6 months would be better. They use a digital x-ray there, so there's no concern about excess radiation. I think that would help allay concerns. During your routine cleaning and exam, they do it pretty quick. So if you have concerns or see anything odd in your kid's mouth, definitely make sure to tell Dr. Fazilat. He takes the time to take a closer look and address your concerns. Sometimes it's pretty hectic and maybe they don't get a good look in your kid's mouth. But as a pro-active parent, I make sure to also observe my kid's mouth when I'm brushing and flossing. I think a pro-active parent and a good pediatric dentist like Dr. Fazilat make the ideal team. My two girls love his office. It's very nice, orderly, clean, modern, and best of all the staff there is amazing. Lastly, if you have to pay out-of-pocket for stuff, their prices seem reasonable considering they are in Mountain View, one of the most expensive areas in the Bay Area.
